Devin Maltais-Project Manager
Devin started his career on the tools, working for a commercial painting company in Vancouver. Over his 9 years with that company, he progressed to foreman, then to estimator and project manager. He was a driving force in quickly growing and diversifying the business into a holding company that purchased and fully renovated apartment buildings throughout the Lower Mainland. These buildings ranged from 15 to 40 units.
In February 2018, Devin moved to Campbell River and joined APS, where he is excited to be part of a young, growing company with the shared values of high quality, performance and excellent customer service. His extensive renovation background, keen eye for detail and strong communications skills will ensure that your renovation experience is pleasant, and that your project is completed on time and on budget.
Julian Akers – Superintendent
Julian has been working in the construction industry for over 15 years and is highly experienced in all phases of General Construction. He has extensive knowledge and expertise in scheduling, overseeing employees and field coordinating. Julian has completed a multitude of construction phases ranging from foundation, concrete work, to commercial and residential renovations specializing in interior and exterior renovations, additions, kitchens, bathrooms, trim and cabinetry installation.
He has extensive construction knowledge and has worked on projects for high profile companies such as Ledcor, Whitehorse Municipal, Dawson City Hospital and BC Hydro.
Justin Roberts – Subcontractor Coordinator
Justin started his career in the logging industry working as a Deckhand. After years of hard work and dedication, he moved into the position of First mate. The First Mate position required him to keep the crew members safe, meet deadlines and keep everyone focused. In 2011 Justin decided to leave logging and pursue a career in oil and gas. He started out doing camp maintenance where he renovated camps, trailers and offices. While doing camp maintenance he did a wide variety of work from exterior renovations to concrete. Justin decided to stop working in camp maintenance and move on to running heavy equipment for Ledcor until 2016.
In August 2016 Justin was offered a position with Akers Property Solutions. Being a local man born and raised in Campbell River, jumped at the opportunity to be apart of something special starting in Campbell River. Justin started on the tools renovating multiunit rentals then moved in the position of estimating, purchasing and project management. Justin looks forward to continuing his career with Akers Property Solutions as they continue to rapidly grow in the real-estate and construction industry.
Talisa Irmscher – Project Coordinator
Talisa joined Akers Property Solutions in March 2018. She came to us with over 7 years of experience in residential and commercial conveyance. As the office manager, Talisa manages the daily operations and over sees all aspects of administration for the office. She is often your first contact when you call or visit. Nicole Darling, MBA, CPA, CGA – Financial Controller
Nicole joined our team in July of 2019 as our Financial Controller. She comes to us with 16 years of accounting experience and strategy creation and implementation. The strong combination of an accounting designation and MBA enables her to produce useful financial information while creating or supporting the strategic initiatives of an organization.
Nicole’s experience and skill, in part, has been derived from 10 years as CFO for an Engineering house with operations in the Wood Buffalo Region. During this timeframe she created the supporting structure for the organization to grow from 5 employees to 200, inclusive of all finance, administration and various safety aspects of the company. Her skillset includes construction job costing, fund accounting, strategy work, process engineering, and financial modeling and projecting. Nicole is excited to a part of Akers Property Solutions growing team.
Amanda Donovan – Property Manager
Amanda Came to us with many years of experience in Real Estate, Property Management and Conveyancing. Her knowledge has proven to be valuable and has extensive experience in the customer service industry and thoroughly enjoys working with people. She instinctively creates a warm and friendly atmosphere and is dedicated to excellence and quality service.
Amanda loves meeting new people and will always go out of her way to help with anything no matter how big or small. She believes a good property manager needs to be organised, patient, empathetic, calm and understanding and she endeavors to bring these qualities to her role.
